Relocating Your Web Press Kit and Distribution

Relocating Your Web Press Kit and Distribution

Hey, guys, I’m happy that you’re enjoying Wave Bot and that the release went smoothly. Now that everything is up and running we are discontinuing the legacy WPK and Distribution features. Legacy features are only relevant to musicians who joined Innovadiv on the old Platinum or Diamond tiers before Tuesday, August 21st, 2018. If you started during the Wave Bot era, please skip this post. In this article, I will describe how to relocate your website and albums and explain why we are ending the legacy features.

Overview of Ending Legacy Features

  • Wave Bot doesn’t require distribution or WPK for your success.
  • Distribution and Web Press Kit are no longer available.
  • WPK’s & distributed albums will be taken down by September 7th, 2018.
  • Choose a new platform to create your site and transfer domain.
  • Choose a new distributor and redistribute your albums.
  • Request your royalty payouts.

Features That Matter

Why are the legacy features going away? The truth is, they don’t help you, and they’re available all over the internet. Many Innovadiv musicians already had a website and used a distributor outside of us. You can quickly create a site on Wix, Bandzoogle, WordPress, etc. And promptly distribute with Distrokid, TuneCore, CD Baby, and many more. We dedicate our energy to making you fruitful, and we can’t do that offering the same old thing as everyone else, so we are focusing on the future of music and enhancing Wave Bot to be the most potent technology ever created for musicians. Locating your real fans, helping you book shows, and growing your network.

Wave Bot VS. Legacy Features

It’s documented that most streams are fake and even the most prominent artists in the world are not selling albums. Travis Scott’s record “Astroworld” is the #1 album in the country. Not because he sold albums, but because he sold merchandise that included the project for free.

As you can see, you have to identify your audience, or you cannot be successful in the industry. Travis’s label spent a lot of money locating his fans and knew they wouldn’t buy the album, so they created bundles. Travis would have sold over 50K less without merchandise bundles. Distributing music and having a website is not helping you unless you know your actual fan base.

Wave Bot doesn’t require you to distribute your music. As long as your project is on YouTube or SoundCloud, Wave Bot will promote it to find the best fans and cities for your project. You can upload directly to YouTube and SoundCloud without a distributor. Wave Bot also doesn’t require you to have a website since it uses YouTube, Spotify, and SoundCloud content. Wave Bot is simple and effective and gives you a Fan Wave Report with the information you need to make better decisions with your music. The same way Travis Scott’s record label did in the last example, except you don’t have to give away over 60% of your revenue! You keep 100% of your money with Wave Bot.

Relocating Your Assets

All Web Press Kits and albums will be taken down by September 7th, 2018 so you have business 14 days to establish a new site and redistribute your music if you choose to do so. You don’t have to worry about deleting any albums or removing any content from your old WPK or distribution section; we’ll delete everything.

If you want to create a new site, we suggest using a platform such as Wix, Bandzoogle, or WordPress. I’m sure there are others out there as well. Once you’ve established your new site, please email support@innovadiv.com for a domain transfer if you’d like one. Keep in mind that your domain is live for one year from the time we acquired it for you so don’t wait too long to request it. Once it expires, you’ll have to repurchase it on your own.

Here are the steps to create your new site:

  • Find your new platform.
  • Create your new website.
  • Transfer your domain.

To redistribute your album choose a new distributor. Distrokid, CD Baby, and Tunecore are all popular, but there are multiple others out there. Remember to get your ISRC codes for each of your tracks. You can find them in the Distribution section of your album or single. To get there log into your account, click Legacy Features in the Billing and Setting section. From there click Edit on your album cover, then the green enter button next to Distribute. Scroll down, and you’ll see your codes. When you redistribute be sure to add those codes, so your royalties are adequately tracked by your new distributor.

Here are the steps to redistribute your music:

  • Find a new distributor.
  • Obtain your ISRC codes.
  • Redistribute your albums.

If you have royalties available, request them so we can pay them out to you via PayPal. It’s important because we don’t want you to forget your money. You earned it, and you deserve it! To request your royalties log into your account, click Legacy Features in the Billing and Setting section. From there click Music Royalties to get into your sales and royalty report to initiate the request.

Here are the steps to obtain your royalties:

  • Request your royalties.

Ending Note

Start working on your new site and new distribution now. If you complete the relocation by Sep 7th, 2018, your music and site will always be up for your fans since your new assets will be live before we take down your old assets. If you have any questions about relocating your assets or the ending of Legacy Features please email me at support@innovadiv.com
